Business and patriotic pride combine in a unique opportunity to support the veterans of the Falklands Conflict during the 25th Anniversary commemorations.

A commemoration event, staged by the MOD, featuring a parade, a drumhead ceremony and a march past, will be held on Horse Guard’s Parade on 17th June 2007.

Sponsorship is being sought by the South Atlantic Medal Association 1982 (SAMA 82) to cover the cost of refreshments at the Veterans’ Reception, as well as to contribute to funding an anniversary pilgrimage to the Falkland Islands during 2007, for Combat Stress registered veterans, relatives of those who died and other veterans.

Ten thousand invited guests are expected to attend the London Event, with thousands of members of the public watching in person from the Mall and in St James’s Park, and millions more viewing the BBC coverage on television. As well as representation from senior members of the armed forces and government, there will be a number of VIP guests attending and a live TV link-up to the Falkland Islands. Including the recently restored Vulcan bomber, the largest flypast down the Mall in recent history will provide a fitting culmination to this poignant and memorable occasion.

National exposure for the event will be enormous. Over 4 million hits are anticipated on the website on the day of the event alone. News coverage of the memorial events, both television and press, is expected to be extensive during the lead up to 17th June, as well as on the day itself, and later in the year on Remembrance Sunday.

Sponsorship opportunities have been identified to help companies support SAMA within their overall business planning. Three specific benefit packages have been proposed, but we are happy to discuss other options with any business who wishes to be involved in the event.
